About the Role

Donnell Sherry is seeking an experienced Trust Accountant to take full ownership of all trust accounting operations and to provide support for their growing client base. This role is ideal for someone with a demonstrated expertise in managing every aspect of trust accounting within a general legal practice setting. You’ll oversee the complete trust accounting function, applying your technical expertise to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial management and reporting.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience managing all aspects of law firm trust accounting, ensuring accuracy and full regulatory compliance
• Confident in overseeing daily reconciliations for business and trust accounts, including managing stale balances and interest-bearing deposits (IBDs)
• Highly proficient in accounts payable and receivable processes, with a strong working knowledge of Actionstep and Xero
• Skilled in preparing, analysing, and reconciling month-end reports, including WIP, billing, and client trust reports
• Experienced in managing end-to-end payroll operations, covering fortnightly wages, leave administration, and timesheet processing
• Committed to maintaining compliant payment processes, including settlements, GST, PAYE, and authorisation of payments
