An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CA-qualified Financial Controller to join ARA Hardware in a role that blends strategic oversight with active financial management. Reporting to the GM, you’ll be a key business partner to branches nationwide – helping teams understand margins, interpret financial data, and make sound commercial decisions. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be rolling up your sleeves to provide real-time insights that drive performance. You’ll bring strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to connect with people at all levels of the business. About the Role:

• Prepare and report monthly financial results to the Chief Executive and GM, delivering timely insights that support performance
• Manage daily and weekly cash flow forecasting, payroll, and IRD-related compliance requirements
• Own the annual budgeting process, lead quarterly reforecasting, and coordinate funding needs across the business
• Lead all audit activity and ensure the company meets legal, regulatory, and reporting obligations
• Partner closely with branches nationwide, helping teams interpret financial data and make informed commercial decisions
• Oversee GL, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations, and provide leadership and mentoring to the wider Accounts team

Skills and Experience:

• CA-qualified accountant with strong expertise in overseeing financial and operational strategy, risk management, compliance, and financial reporting
• Relevant experience in door hardware, construction, building supplies, or closely related industries is highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain control systems that safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial results
• Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, payroll management, IRD compliance, and delivering financial reports to senior leadership
• Effective trusted business partner with a track record of collaborating closely with branches and senior management on all finance-related matters
